Chocolate cake was on the menu and I already decided I wouldn't even taste it. I've never been a fan of chocolate. My younger sister, Amanda, made her way into the kitchen to finish the cake after she gave it time to cool down. When the cake detached itself from the pan, it broke in half! Amanda was furious. But of course, like the soldier she is, she returned to the kitchen and made do with what she had. She put the cake back together with a chocolaty paste she invented, added a cup of patience, a sprinkle of faith, and tons of Love! This cake was the best cake she has ever made! EVER! (and Yes I know because I ate most of it.. *Gulp*)
and it was all for one person... My Mommy!! Her birthday was on January 18. She got all "handsomed" up and, of course, I Snap, Snap, Snap!
Mom, I Love you! I wouldnt be where I am or who I am today if it weren't for you. You always have inspiring words to share. Answers to questions we have on a daily basis. I see you as the bridge that connects us to God! Through you we learn so much about Him and His Word. We always can depend on you to run to when a shoulder, a hug, advice or just company is needed.
With my mom life was an adventure! I remember when my older sister, Desire'e, and myself were in elementary school (Amanda was not in school yet), Easter vacation would begin my mom would wake us up in the morning and say "You girls want to take a trip to Florida?" and we were all like "YEEEAAAAHHH!!!". We'd pack the car up with everything we would need for the week vacation and we'd get on the road. We couldn't help my mom drive but she'd do it. ALONE.
From New York to New Jersey.........Pass Delaware .....Pass Virginia......Pass North Carolina....(and of course stop at the South Of The Border) ..... Onto South Carolina.... and end up in Florida!!
Beach, Beach, Beach! My mom always made sure we enjoyed the sun while visiting family in Florida!!
